In my last post all the way back in January I listed some of the things I wanted to achieve in 2017. So in May I got out to Algeria after a long time. It was a visit generally for non-hockey purposes but I did manage to have a meeting with American ambassador to Algeria, Joan Polaschik, at the American embassy in Algiers. The ambassador and all the staff at the embassy were super friendly and hospitable, and I had an enjoyable 45 minute meeting where I explained my Algerian hockey project.

Following the meeting with the ambassador, she introduced me to some of her contacts, which lead me to making an important trip back to Algeria in July, which I’ll come to later.
